Man arrested in connection with Inchicore shooting

Gardai in Dublin have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with an exchange of fire between officers and a criminal gang in the Inchicore area last weekend.

The man was arrested following a raid on a flat in Rathmines this afternoon.

Another man arrested in connection with the incident has since been charged with firearms offences, while a third detainee has been released without charge.

Nobody was injured in the Inchicore shooting, during which gardai returned fire after a shotgun was discharged at their patrol car.
