Higgins accuses Harney of 'profound ignorance'

Labour Party TD Michael D Higgins has accused the Tanaiste, Mary Harney, of trying to stir up cheap publicity by describing peace protestors as "anti-American".

In a speech in Limerick earlier today, Ms Harney accused people involved in anti-war protests and humanitarian organisations of using the impending US/British war on Iraq to stoke up anti-American and anti-British feelings.
