Customs officers at Dublin Airport have seized 500kg of khat, a plant used as a drug which is hugely popular in the Arabian peninsula and east Africa.

Customs officers at Dublin Airport have seized 500kg of khat, a plant used as a drug which is hugely popular in the Arabian peninsula and east Africa.

The shipment originated in England, where Khat is legal, and was destined for the US, where the plant is banned.
