Green Party MEP Patricia McKenna has urged the Irish Government to support Franco-German proposals aimed at avoiding a US/British war on Iraq.

Speaking ahead of an EU summit in Brussels today, Ms McKenna said Ireland should support the peaceful option rather than rowing in behind US/British war plans.
