Donaldson calls for Adams' arrest over 1978 bombing
Ulster Unionist MP Jeffrey Donaldson has urged the police to arrest Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams for questioning about the IRA bombing of La Mon House near Belfast in February 1978.
Yesterday, DUP MP Iris Robinson used her parliamentary privilege to claim in the British House of
Commons that Mr Adams sanctioned and approved of the attack. 12 people died in the explosion.
Mr Adams has already denied Ms Robinson's allegations, which she said were passed to her by the police.
The Sinn Féin president said the claims were deliberately designed to deflect attention from the announcement yesterday that the Stevens inquiry investigating the murder of nationalist solicitor Pat Finucane has prepared a file for the DPP about Gordon Kerr, the former head of the shadowy Force Research Unit in Belfast.
Brigadier Kerr is now the British military attache in Beijing.
