Man arrested in connection with Cobh assault

A man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Cobh in the early hours of this morning.

A man in his fifties was stabbed in the neck and back in Maryville, Carrigtwohill at 2.30am. He is recovering in Cork University hospital.

One man in his early twenties is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act in relation to the incident.
