Gardai in Dublin are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a new-born baby whose body was found in a dump in the north of the city today.

Gardai in Dublin are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a new-born baby whose body was found in a dump in the north of the city today.

The baby's remains were found wrapped in a blanket by workmen at the Killsallaghan dump near Swords.

The scene has been preserved for forensic examination and detectives have appealed for the baby's mother to come forward.
