Political loyalism must be allowed to develop following the dramatic expulsion of Johnny “Mad Dog” Adair’s supporters from their Belfast stronghold, Northern Ireland Secretary Paul Murphy insisted today.

As Johnny Adair’s faction came to terms with being forced to flee to Scotland by the mainstream Ulster Defence Association, Mr Murphy said loyalists needed to move away from the "corrosive" effects of criminality and pursue politics.
