Man shot in gangland attack
A man was shot and injured in a new gangland-style shooting in Dublin tonight.
The incident happened near the man’s home in Drimnagh. The victim, who is in his 30s, was hit a number of times and taken to hospital, but his injuries were not said to be life-threatening.
Garda sources said the man had survived a number of previous attacks and had convictions for armed robbery.
The shooting is the latest in a series thought to involve criminal gangs in Dublin in recent weeks.
Last month taxi driver Nial Mulvihill was shot dead at the wheel of his cab, and Raymond Sallinger was gunned down in a pub.
Both men had underworld connections.
