'No risk of pollution from stricken French vessel'
Officials at Galway Harbour have insisted that there is no risk of pollution from a stricken French factory ship currently anchored in Galway Bay.
A fire broke out in the vessel's hold earlier today and there were fears that poisonous gases could have been released into the atmosphere.
However, the 26 crew members were found to have suffered no ill effects.
The Department of the Marine is investigating the cause of the blaze.
