The leadership of the Ulster Defence Association has warned its rank-and-file members to isolate their former colleagues who are suspected of murdering 45-year-old John Gregg on Saturday night.

The UDA has blamed associates of its former west Belfast commander, Johnny Adair, for the shooting. A group calling itself the Red Hand Defenders - believed to be a cover name for Adair's associates - claimed responsibility for the killing in Belfast's docks area.
