Driver arrested after fatal crash

A lorry driver has been arrested following a road accident in which a woman was killed and a man left fighting for his life.

A lorry driver has been arrested following a road accident in which a woman was killed and a man left fighting for his life.

Police in the North were today preparing to question the driver about the collision on the main Ballymena to Ballycastle Road near Ballymoney in Co Antrim last night.

The 36-year-old woman was a front-seat passenger in a Honda car which was in

collision with the lorry on the Drones Road near its junction with the Knockhallet Road at about 8.45pm.

The male driver of the car was taken to hospital. His condition is described as critical.

A police sergeant at the scene confirmed the lorry driver had been arrested and was helping police with their inquiries.
