Gardaí announce €20m drugs seizure

Gardai have announced the seizure of more than €20m worth of cannabis yesterday in Dublin.

The seizure, one of the biggest in the state, was made in Swords, Co Dublin. Gardai recovered more than 1.6 tonnes of cannabis resin at the scene.

The drugs are now being examined at the Garda Technical Bureau at Garda headquarters.

A large scale investigation both involving the National Drugs Unit and the Customs National Drugs Team has now been initiated.
