A jury has retired today to deliberate its verdict in the case of a 22 year-old Carlow man on trial for the murder of a teenage father-of-one in 2001.

A jury has retired today to deliberate its verdict in the case of a 22 year-old Carlow man on trial for the murder of a teenage father-of-one in 2001.

At the Central Criminal Court Mr John Dillon of Granby Row, Carlow has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Warren Slater (17) at Granby Row, Carlow on May 13, 2001.

At the time of his death the deceased lived with his girlfriend and their six-month-old baby in the downstairs bedsit of the same house in which Mr Dillon lived with his mother and sister.
