Ramming in Belfast injures six PSNI officers

Six police officers have been injured in North Belfast, after an incident in which a patrol car was rammed.

Four officers were treated for whiplash after their squad car, which was stationary on North Queen Street, was struck by another car shortly after 3.30am this morning.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving while unfit.

During the incident, a passer-by attacked a member of the force.

Another police officer, who tried to arrest the attacker, was also injured.

He was also arrested, and the two men are now in police custody.
