Officials to examine fishing vessel in Galway

Officials from the Department of the Marine will this afternoon examine the catch of an Irish-registered Spanish-owned trawler.

The boat is being detained by Gardai in the city this afternoon after it was escorted one hundred miles to shore by the naval vessel L.E. Aoife.

The Department of Marine is to investigate allegations of fishing offences of the trawler which is now stationed in Galway.
