McDowell 'satisfied' with Supreme Court ruling
Justice Minister Michael McDowell has expressed satisfaction with a Supreme Court ruling allowing him to deport the non-EU parents of Irish children.
Mr McDowell promised to bring forward legislative proposals based on the ruling, which could have implications for thousands of asylum seekers with Irish-born children.
He said: "I have to consider what our response will be, to bring a memorandum to Government as to how we deal with the situation now that it's been clarified at long last."
"In the fullness of time, we will come forward with proposals which will fully respect people's constitutional rights."
