Man and woman killed in Belfast crash

Two people have died and four more are injured following a road accident on the M5 motorway on the outskirts of north Belfast today.

All six people were in the same vehicle when it veered off the road, smashed through a fence and ended up on its side on the shore of Belfast Lough.

A man and a woman died in the crash and one of those injured is in a serious condition in hospital. The other three victims suffered minor injuries.

Police said road conditions were good at the time of the accident, which brings the death toll on the North's roads so far this year to 13.

Eight of those have died in the last six days.
