Wind delays completion of Dublin Spire

Wind conditions have again delayed work on the Spire of Dublin monument in the centre of the capital.

The €5m 120-metre 'spike' was due to be completed this afternoon, but assembly work has been postponed until this evening and the monument is not expected to be finished until tomorrow.

The Monument of Light was originally due for completion three years ago for the millennium.

However, it has suffered a spate of delays over the years and its completion has been hampered further by adverse wind conditions in the past week.
