Three die in road crash

Three young men died and one was seriously injured when their car went out of control and hit a wall late last night, gardai said.

The men, thought to be in their late 20s and early 30s, were travelling on the outskirts of Listowel, in Co Kerry, when the accident happened just after midnight.

The three men were pronounced dead at the scene while the fourth was taken to Tralee General Hospital before being transferred to Cork University Hospital, where he was said to be in a serious condition.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident, said a Garda spokesman, adding that officers were appealing for witnesses.
