Police arrest man in connection with teenager's murder

Police in the North investigating the murder of a teenage boy have arrested a man, a Police Service of Northern Ireland spokeswoman confirmed.

Detectives had earlier seized a passport.

The 16-year-old was stabbed in Portadown, Co Armagh, last night following a confrontation in the town centre.

The victim, whose name has not been released, died later in hospital.

Officers were today hunting for a foreign national they want to question about the attack in the Carlton Street and Meadow Lane part of the town.
