Man assaulted in West Dublin

A man has been found unconscious in West Dublin, following a serious assault.

An emergency call was received at 2.30 this morning alerting Gardai to suspicious behaviour on the Cromwellsforth road in Walkinstown.

When the ambulance service arrived at the scene, they found a man lying unconscious on the footpath with serious head injuries.

He has now been taken to St. James' hospital for treatment.

There have been no arrests in relation to the incident.
