FG telephone records may be examined

A report in this morning's Sunday Independent claims gardaí are preparing to examine telephone records of Fine Gael Senator Jim Higgins and Labour's Brendan Howlin.

The move is part of continuing investigations into the McBrearty Affair.

However, the report says the Director of Public Prosecutions has advised against any such examination.
