Vatican appointment for Dublin-born priest

The Pope has appointed a Dublin born priest as Secretary of the Pontifical Council for promoting Christian Unity.

The Pope has appointed a Dublin born priest as Secretary of the Pontifical Council for promoting Christian Unity.

Fr Brian Farrell is also being appointed a Bishop.

He is currently chief of the Section for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State at the Vatican.

His brother Kevin Farrell was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Washington last December.
