Six released after questioning in stabbing probe
Six men arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Co Tipperary on Hallowe’en night have been released.
They had been detained by officers investigating the death of Jamie Lonergan, 21, who was found on wasteland near St Luke’s Hospital in Clonmel early in the morning of November 1.
Post-mortem examinations showed he suffered multiple stab wounds to his head and body.
The men, aged 18 to 26, were arrested during raids in the area between 6.30am and 7am today and were later released without charge.
