Local radio welcomes sharing of licence fee

Ireland's independent local radio stations have welcomed the Government's decision to establish a broadcasting fund to deliver the proceeds of the licence fee to private broadcasters as well as RTE.

Local radio owners have been campaigning for years for a share of the licence fee.
