Man dies in Co Louth trench collapse

A man in his 60s has died after part of a trench collapsed on him on a road works site in Dunleer, Co Louth.

The dead man was apparently laying sewage pipes at a housing scheme in Main Street at the time of the accident. The scene has been preserved for examination by health and safety officials.

The victim's name will be withheld until all next of kin are informed.
