Six people arrested in connection with fatal stabbing
Six people have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old man in Co Tipperary on Halloween night.
Jamie Lonergan was stabbed to death in a field in Clonmel. He was found on the morning of November 1, in an area called Kelly's Field behind St Luke's Hospital.
He had multiple stab wounds to the head and body. Gardai raided a number of houses in the area between 7am and 8am this morning and arrested three men, aged between 18 and 26.
They are being held under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 12 hours.
