DPP considers child porn charges against high profile suspects
The Director of Public Prosecutions is reportedly considering pressing child porn charges against a number of high profile suspects, including a judge.
The investigation arose from the garda crackdown labelled 'Operation Amethyst' and follows a series of raids on a number of homes and business premises.
According to reports today the judge at the centre of the child porn investigation is receiving medical treatment and has been hospitalised a number of times since the garda operation was launched last May.
He is just one of a number of high profile suspects who were investigated.
The others include a number of solicitors, a banker, business executives, a health board official and a man who had ambitions of being a national politician.
