Limerick pumps plant lays off 85

The Wilo Pumps engineering plant in Limerick has announced that it is to lay off 85 staff.

The cuts will leave just 13 workers at its plant in the Raheen Business Park.

The company, which has been based in Raheen for more than 20 years, manufactures industrial pumps and motors.

The 85 staff, who are involved in the motor manufacturing section, are to cease work with the closure of the motor section on January 24.
