McCreevy takes to his feet to deliver Budget

Charlie McCreevy has taken to his feet in the Dáil to deliver his Budget speech.

He has said that the Budget "sets the fiscal policy for the next three years".

He has also said that, to date, "the social partners have played a key role in our success so far. The Government is keen that they continue in that role.

"We need to be more flexible and innovative in how we manage our resources," he said.
