Meath gardai probe raid as patrol car rammed
Gardai in Co Meath are investigating an attempted robbery at a shop earlier today during which a patrol car was rammed.
The gardai responded to a call in Curragha, Ashbourne at 2.45am and as they approached the rear of the premises they were confronted by three males in a dark blue Rover.
The car had earlier been reported stolen from Ratoath.
The occupants of the vehicle rammed the patrol car and pointed a shotgun at the gardai before escaping.
No-one was injured and nothing was stolen in the raid.
