Postal services are expected to operate normally this Christmas after the Irish Postmaster's Union voted in favour of adopting the latest package aimed at ending the dispute with An Post.

Postal services are expected to operate normally this Christmas after the Irish Postmaster's Union voted in favour of adopting the latest package aimed at ending the dispute with An Post.

The union voted overwhelmingly for the measures to wrap up the dispute.

However, several groups of postmen in Galway, Tipperary and Cork are refusing to return to work at their offices.

However, the IPU are appealing to those still away from their offices to return to work.
