Rescuers save injured yachtsman

Rescue services have successfully lifted an injured yachtsman from his vessel after he got into difficulty off the south coast.

The Courtmacsherry lifeboat battled storm force winds to rescue the man, who had suffered an arm injury.

A distress call was received shortly after 10am today from the yacht's single crewmember, 25 miles south of the old head of Kinsale.

Efforts are now underway to tow the vessel back to shore.
