Fianna Fail TD's to go back to school
A group of Fianna Fail TD's could be heading back to school to learn Irish.
The Fianna Fail parliamentary party was told today that there is growing interest among TD's to improve their native language skills.
Ever since the constitution was written in 1937 it has been a strong aspiration of Fianna Fail to make Irish the dominant spoken language of the State.
It is proposed that the proposed Irish course for Fianna Fail TD's could last from 6 to 8 weeks but provision will be determined by how many are willing to take part.
Any such course is likely to take place in Leinster House and will be funded by the Oireachtas.
