240 jobs announced for Co Clare

Halifax Insurance has announced 240 new jobs for Shannon in Co Clare.

The new vacancies arise from the expansion of Halifax Insurance Ireland, which underwrites and administers credit insurance policies.

The company, which commenced business at the Shannon free zone in September 2001, is seeking to fill the vacancies over the next three years as part of an expansion supported by Shannon Development.

Halifax said the calibre of staff and the favourable business climate has boosted its growth in Ireland and facilitated the planned expansion.
