Trocaire are calling for food aid to be sent to Ethiopia, saying that intervention now will help to avoid a repeat of the massive famine that hit the country in 1984.

The country's annual rains have failed to come this year, meaning that the country's crops have failed.

Trocaire's Eimear O'Hare, who is in Northern Ethiopia, says if no food aid arrives, the Ethiopian people could be facing another catastrophe.
