30 years to clear housing waiting lists

It has been revealed that it will take some 30 years to clear the backlog on housing waiting lists unless the Government increases the number of local authority homes it is building.

The figures have been revealed in a new report compiled by St Vincent de Paul, Focus Ireland, Threshold and the Simon Community.
