Ahern: Prudence will protect Irish economy

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has told the Dail that financial prudence will guide the Irish economy through the global economic downturn.

Mr Ahern was speaking at the close of a debate on the cutbacks contained in this year's Book of Estimates.
