The National Bus and Railworkers Union has begun balloting its members on possible strike action if the Government presses ahead with the part-privatisation of bus services in Dublin.

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has announced plans to privatise 25% of the city's bus services by 2004 and to break CIE into three separate companies competing against each other.
