The Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) is seeking an urgent meeting with Health Minister Micheal Martin to discuss the consequences of the cutbacks announced by the Government last week.

The IMO, which represents Ireland's 5,500 doctors, accused the Government of having no real commitment to reforming the health service and said it missed a major opportunity to do this during the Celtic Tiger boom period.
