Government to set up body of inquiry into clerical sexual abuse

It is reported today that the Government is to set up a statutory body of inquiry to investigate allegations of clerical sexual abuse.

It is understood that the system of inquiry will have legal powers to compel people to co-operate and will deal with cases of clerical sexual abuse throughout the state.
