Rail services returning to normal after flood chaos

Iarnrod Eireann has said that most rail services in eastern areas have now returned to normal following disruption caused by flooding this morning.

The DART line between Howth Junction and Malahide, which was closed earlier today, has now been reopened, as has the Gorey to Enniscorthy section of the Rosslare inter-city route.

However, the Enfield to Maynooth section of the Sligo route is still flooded, with bus transfers in place to overcome the problem.

Iarnrod Eireann has warned that these transfers are subject to delays because of flooding on the roads in the area.
