McCreevy set to announce tough spending cuts

The toughest spending cuts in over a decade are expected to be announced by the Minister for Finance shortly.

Major State projects will be shelved as the Government attempts to curb public spending and rescue the economy. It is believed that there will be cuts in all areas, which could mean a halt to the building of schools, roads and rail networks.
