A four-man gang has escaped with a large amount of cash and cigarettes following a raid on a pub in Co Meath this morning.

A four-man gang has escaped with a large amount of cash and cigarettes following a raid on a pub in Co Meath this morning.

The gang, which was armed with baseball bats, a crow bar and a sledgehammer, entered the Silver Tankered Bar on the Kells Road in Navan.

They then locked three staff in a store-room before escaping in a waiting vehicle.
