Couple assaulted in Belfast

A young man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted in Belfast early today.

The 22-year-old was walking with his girlfriend along Boundary way, towards the Shankill estate, when a car pulled up alongside them. A man who got out of the car struck him about the head and then hit the victim's girlfriend in the face.
