Family die in blaze in Co Louth

A man in his thirties and his two daughters, both of whom were under four years of age, died in a house fire in Dundalk last night.

A woman, who was also in house, managed to get out and is now being treated in hospital.

A local priest performed the last rights on the victims.

It is understood the fire may have started on the ground floor.

The scene has been preserved and will be examined later by members of the Garda Technical Bureau.
