Annual inflation rises to 4.6%

Inflation rose 0.5% last month, giving an annual rate of 4.6%, according to figures released today.

The figures from the Central Statistics Office also showed the EU Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, which compares prices across Europe, rose by 0.4% in the month, and was 4.4% higher than October 2001.
