Gardaí in Limerick have discovered a cache of explosives during a follow-up search after the arrest of two men in a probe into dissident republicans.

Gardaí in Limerick have discovered a cache of explosives during a follow-up search after the arrest of two men in a probe into dissident republicans.

Two men, one in his 50s and the other in his 30s, were detained when gardaí raided a house in Sarsfield Court, Garryowen on Wednesday.

A Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle, together with ammunition and grenades were found during the initial arrests, while the explosives were found yesterday.
