FG accuses McCreevy of incompetence

Fine Gael has said it decided to table a motion of no confidence in Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy because of the scale of his incompetence in managing the public finances.

The party pointed out that just days before the May general election, Mr McCreevy insisted that no cutbacks were planned, no over-runs were predicted and the latest tax returns confirmed a return to growth.
